Executive Coaching

Why you might want to work with me?

Why do you want to work with an executive coach? There can be many reasons. Maybe you just want to reflect or make sense of something. Maybe you want to learn a new competency or change or improve a certain habit. Or you might want to overcome an unproductive behavioural or thought pattern. The desire to change is always triggered by an event. Usually something external that creates an internal awareness.

As an Executive Coach I work with executives and professionals in leadership positions. People who want to take responsibility for their own growth and development and have the courage to step out of their comfort zones to do so. Some examples include:

  • You have reached a position in which the demands placed on you are intense. Moving up the hierarchy has lead to more people relying on you. Fewer people are willing to give you honest feedback or contradict you, while you know you can’t always be right. How do you maintain a clear and realistic view of yourself and what is happening around you?
  • You have built a successful career on working hard and getting things done. However, the complexities and scale of your current role are such that this no longer seems to work. You feel you need to step back and look at yourself and the issues around you from a distance.  You need more space for reflection and sense-making if you want to grow. But how do you continue to have impact if you are no longer on the front line?

Executive Coaching is about your growth as a leader

  • Executive Coaching is a process for individual learning, problem solving and performance improvement. However, as your coach I won’t be your teacher or problem solver. Rather, I will guide you in clarifying your goals and objectives. In addition I will encourage you to take full ownership of whatever improvements you set for yourself and enable you to achieve these. Consequently, any solution will be yours and much more likely to lead to sustainable change. My role is to be your sounding board, facilitator, awareness raiser and occasional devil’s advocate.
  • People have much more potential and qualities than they often realise. It is my job to help you tap into these resources. I do this by making you aware of what might be blocking you or holding you back. Only then will you be able to overcome these barriers and move to whatever next level you are aiming for. After all, you can only control what you are aware of. Most likely what you are not aware of is controlling you.
  • Every situation is different and will require an approach tailored to your needs. However, the following elements are usually the outcome of any successful Executive Coaching engagement:

Clarity

Gain more clarity and understanding

Goals

Achieve your professional and personal goals

Leader

Become a better leader of yourself and for others

Purpose and direction

Find purpose and direction

Happy hart

Lead an overall happier life
